1st DDD visit – Sonnys Famous Steak Hoagies

Sonnys is in Hollywood, embedded in a small, non-descript strip mall.  Definitely falls into the dive category with the old nostalgic charm of an 80’s restaurant.  It was small and old, but was clean and had the small town feel which you don’t find in S. Florida.  They had a special meal deal, but it had sold out – which included a sandwich and drink for less than the price of most sandwiches.  Ended up ordering the steak hoagie from the friendly waitress along with their “famous” sauce. I guess what made the hoagie different is they use mozzarella cheese.  The famous sauce is basically fresh made marinara sauce.  It was an okay combo with the mozz-o cheese.  It didn’t look all that big, but it did have over a half pound of meat I’m guessing.  Defiantly a gut buster.

There was a signed photo of Guy on the wall, apparently that’s the footprint he leaves behind.  Sonny’s Site
