2nd Triple D visit @ Grandpa’s Bakery

Seemed a bit pricey at first glance, everything was basically $10 or more.  Ordered a Reuben sandwich that comes with fries.  It wasn’t long for the food to start to arrive, beginning with fresh (what I call) “cinabombs” and bread rolls – yeah, that’s right, Cinnabonns as an appetizer!  Followed up shortly thereafter with the reuben tower of bowel movements.  At first it didn’t look to large and in charge, but it probably had more than a pound of meat on fresh home made rye bread.  Yeah, everything there is made from scratch.  The fries were great, fresh cut and lightly seasoned with salt.  The slaw was of course fresh made too.  Could only down half the sandwich, and even that was pushing it.  And since it’s a bakery,  you pay at the bakery counter to suck you into racks of fresh baked goodness.  I went for a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting for the road.  Yum-o-licous.  Guy knows how to pick them. Of course, it’s right next door to Jackon’s – a favorite ice cream parlor with old time charm just like the defunct Farroll’s Ice Cream from growing up.  Settling for the chocolate cupcake was enough for the night though.  Didn’t want to end up like half the patron’s who needed to be on the Biggest Loser…
